iOS 15 Key Features: 5 key features iPhone users will have to wait for even after iOS 15 rolls out – Times of India

Apple’s iOS 15 is now in the final beta stages. The company had announced the iOS 15 OS update for iPhone users back in June at WWDC 2021 — along with other operating system updates that are set to be rolled out to other Apple devices. Now, as the expected month of iOS 15 update rollout approaches, Apple is at a stage of refining the features.
According to a report by 9to5Mac, some previously announced features have been removed with the rollout of Developer Beta 6 of iOS 15 before the official release of a new version of iOS as they are “not yet working properly, so the engineers need more time to fix everything.”
Here’s a look at these features:
SharePlay
This feature allows iPhone users to share the handset’s screen with other people via FaceTime. It also includes support for sharing a song or video as well. This feature was available to developers and other beta users but has been removed now.
Apple hasn’t given any official reason for this but only said that it will be “enabled for use again in future developer beta releases and will launch to the public in software updates later this fall.”
App Privacy Report
With iOS 15, Apple said that it will add a new App Privacy Report, highlighting details on the type of data and sensors all app had accessed in the past seven days. However, this feature has also been put on hold for now.
Universal Control
One of the most highlighted features at WWDC was Universal Control. To recall, this feature allowed users to up to two additional devices — using the keyboard and mouse of their main computer.
Since this feature hasn’t been added to any of the beta updates so far, it is believed that the first public release of iOS 15 will not come with this feature.
Custom email domain
With iOS 15, Apple was supposed to enable the support to users to use their own domains to customise iCloud email addresses, however, this feature has also not yet been made available for iOS 15 beta users.
Legacy Contacts
This feature was present in the iOS 15 beta till the fourth beta was rolled out. But it was removed after that. This feature allows Apple users to set “Legacy Contacts” to their Apple ID in case of death.
These accounts will be able to access your account and data even without having your password, after providing proof of the concerned person’s demise.
